Do you need urgent help?

UNDERSTAND • SUPPORT • THRIVE

Make sense of the everyday.

When everyday tasks take more effort than others realise, it can be difficult to explain what is happening. You may be looking for answers for yourself, or wondering how best to support your child. Glowing Psychology offers ADHD assessments for children and adults to help explore those questions.

Start with the service that fits your needs above, or speak with our team before deciding what to do next.

UNDERSTAND

ADHD is more than a single difficulty

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition. It can affect attention, activity levels and impulse control. Experiences vary: some people mainly notice difficulties with attention, some with hyperactivity and impulsivity, and others with both.

Attention & follow-through

Staying with a task, following instructions or remembering everyday essentials may be difficult.

Organisation & time

Planning, keeping track of belongings and managing time can take extra effort.

Activity & impulses

Restlessness, interrupting or acting before considering the consequences may be part of the picture.

These experiences do not diagnose ADHD on their own. A specialist assessment considers their history, impact and other possible explanations. For general information, visit the NHS guide to ADHD in adults.

SUPPORT

Different stages of life. A personal starting point.

For children and families

What would you like to understand about your child’s day? Consider the moments that go well as well as those that feel difficult. Bring questions about home life, friendships, learning and the support you are seeking.

For adults

You may want to explore patterns in work, study, relationships or daily responsibilities. Our adult assessment service is designed to consider your experiences and help you understand the findings in the context of your life.

YOUR EVERYDAY, IN YOUR WORDS

A small preparation exercise

Rather than trying to remember everything in an appointment, make a few notes under these three headings:

What takes effort?
Choose two or three recent examples you would like to discuss.

What already helps?
Note the routines, environments or support that make a difference.

What would you like to change?
Describe what you hope to understand and the questions you want answered.

Bring relevant previous reports if you have them, and ask the team which information would be useful. You do not need a perfectly organised history to start a conversation.

Assessment and medication are different services

Glowing Psychology’s published information states that we do not prescribe ADHD medication. If medication is something you wish to explore, discuss the appropriate route with your GP or a qualified prescribing specialist. An assessment here does not guarantee access to medication or a shared-care arrangement.

YOUR QUESTIONS

A little clarity before you book

Does an assessment guarantee an ADHD diagnosis?

No. A diagnosis depends on the clinical evidence and relevant diagnostic criteria. The aim is to understand the findings, not to promise a particular result.

Can adults seek an assessment?

Yes. Glowing Psychology has a dedicated adult ADHD service. Visit the adults’ pathway above to learn more and discuss your circumstances with the team.

Is a questionnaire enough to diagnose ADHD?

No. Questionnaires contribute information, but assessment considers the broader history, everyday impact and clinical picture.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. Our published service information states that Glowing Psychology does not prescribe ADHD medication. Ask your GP or a prescribing specialist about medication options and their assessment requirements.

What does an assessment cost?

See Our Pricing, then confirm the relevant fee, what is included and any additional charges with our team before booking.

Can I check the appointment format and availability first?

Yes. Contact us to confirm current availability, where and how appointments take place, and any adjustments you would like to request.

What should I ask before booking?

Ask which pathway fits your needs, who will conduct the assessment, what information is required, how findings will be explained and what support is included afterwards.
