How an Mental Wellbeing assessment works
Our team is committed to delivering compassionate and effective care, empowering adults with ADHD to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.
1
Referral
At the onset of our assessment process for ADHD in adults, we employ initial screening tools designed to detect potential signs and symptoms. These tools help us identify areas of concern and determine if further evaluation is necessary. Screening may involve questionnaires, such as the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS).
Step
2
Psychology assessment
Following the screening phase, we delve deeper into understanding the individual’s experiences and challenges through in-depth interviews and assessments. These sessions provide an opportunity for individuals to share their personal experiences, symptoms, and any difficulties they may be facing in various areas of life, such as work, relationships, and daily functioning.
Step
3
Formulation and feedback
Our diagnostic process for ADHD involves a comprehensive evaluation, which includes psychological testing and cognitive assessments. These assessments help confirm the presence of ADHD and rule out other potential causes of symptoms. Psychological tests, such as the Conners Adult ADHD Rating Scales (CAARS), may be administered to assess specific ADHD-related behaviors and impairments.
Step
4
Comprehensive report with recommendations
Based on the findings from the comprehensive assessment, our team generates a detailed diagnostic report. This report outlines the individual’s ADHD diagnosis, highlighting their strengths, challenges, and specific symptoms. Additionally, the report includes recommendations for treatment and support tailored to the individual’s unique needs.
Step
5
Further follow-up therapy sessions
Upon receiving a diagnosis of ADHD, individuals are offered access to a range of treatment options aimed at managing symptoms and improving overall functioning. These options may include medication, such as stimulants or non-stimulants, to address core symptoms of ADHD.
